Soybean futures slip on low demand


New Delhi: Soybean prices on Sunday fell by Rs 40 to Rs 3,856 per quintal in futures market as participants trim down their positions on vulnerable spot demand. On the Nationalized Commodity and Derivatives Alternate, soybean contracts for Sept delivery fell Rs 40, or 1.03 %, to Rs 3,856 per quintal with an wide open interest of 3,610 a lot.

Soybean for October supply went down by Rs 47, or 1.19 %, to Rs 3,905 per quintal with an wide open interest of 43,695 lots.

The along with soybean prices in futures trade was mostly as a result of reduction of exposure by means of participants, marketmen said.
